All Washed Up, Vermilion’s Driftwood Art Contest, will return this summer! Participants of all ages will display their creations made of driftwood and (other washed up items) collected from the shores of Lake Erie. Be part of the fun as a contestant, or just stop by and enjoy seeing what can be made from this amazing natural resource abundant on local beaches.
Here’s what you need to know to participate in All Washed Up on July 31, 2021, 10 am - 3 pm in Exchange Park!
Who should enter?
Everyone, anyone. All ages and abilities are invited to have fun creating something original.
What does it cost to enter?
It’s free and it’s fun!
How do I get started?
Get to the beach! Start gathering driftwood and thinking about what you can make. To help you get off on the right foot, local driftwood artist, Tim Balda, has created Driftwood 101, a guide to selecting, cleaning and working with driftwood. You can also incorporate other items that wash up on the beach in your work. Before you start collecting, please read the important Rules & Regulations.
Can I work with a team?
Yes! It’s fun to work with family, friends, as a neighborhood, a church, company or club. The more the merrier!
Where will our work be displayed?
At Vermilion’s beautiful Exchange Park, in the center of town. Ribbons will be awarded in each category.
