Ritter Public Library announces the new Chocolate Champion for Chocolate Festival '20 is Marcie Jaworski, who won the blue ribbon for her Death by Reese's Chocolate Cheesecake.
Friends of Ritter Public Library's annual Chocolate Festival took place on Saturday, February 1 during Vermilion's Ice-A-Fair. The public was invited to sample delicious homemade treats for just 50 cents a taste, then vote for their favorite to help crown the new Chocolate Champion. The event is a fundraiser for the Friends of Ritter.
The champions in the youth division are the same team who won last year: tenth-graders Madison Tennant, Caitlin Thomas and Stephenie Landers, who have entered six years in a row.
Second place adult winner is Marlene Dawson, who made peanut-butter filled Bugles. Third place goes to Diana Puls, who made triple-chocolate cheesecake kifli.
Layla Miles, who entered with her grandmother, won second place for her Chocolate Caramel Circles. Elise Budnar won third prize for peanut-butter, chocolate mousse cups.
