Fish Fest Canceled, But Perky 54 Buttons Will Support Chamber

The Vermilion Chamber of Commerce is now offering the Official 54th Festival of the Fish commemorative buttons for $2.00 each, or three for $5.00. If you would like to show your support for the festival and the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce, buy a button.

“Whether you supported postponing the festival to a later date, or canceling this year’s festivities, buying a button and proudly wearing it shows everyone that no matter where you might stand on the issue of the Festival of the Fish you continue to support our hometown festival and our Chamber of Commerce,” stated Sandy Coe, Executive Director of the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce.

There are only 300 buttons available, and 100% of the money raised will help the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce in continuing to do what it does in support of the local small business community.

“This is our hometown festival, and it began over five decades ago as a street dance,” said Coe. “Through the years, like our great city, it has grown and evolved. The current pandemic will force evolutionary changes within our community as we continue to learn and grow with each new day. As we chart a course through these uncertain times, micro fund-raising events and ideas like this will help to keep the Chamber on an even keel financially.”

The Friends of Harbour Town, Inc., an organizational member of the Chamber of Commerce, has graciously put these buttons together and paid to have them produced so that all the money raised will go directly to the Chamber of Commerce, according to Coe.

“We know that to achieve great things, we need to work together as friends towards a common goal,” stated Coe. “The ‘Perky 54’ button shows how, together, we as Vermilionites support our festival, organizations, and businesses, no matter where we stand on individual issues. I would also like to encourage local businesses and other organizations that are not currently members of the Chamber of Commerce to join us. Membership information can be found at www.vermilionohio.com.”
