Jacob Frish is a singer/songwriter who was born and raised in the farmlands of northern Ohio. Since he was 2 years old, he entered competitions by playing the keyboard. It was clear music was in his blood at such a young age. With a grandmother playing church organ, mother as a singer, and a diverse selection of musical influences in his family, Frish has developed a unique sound and a crave for something “different”. At the age of 5 he picked up the guitar and was self taught, other than 3/4 beginner lessons; he hasn’t put it down since. He started writing about anything and everything.
His first song was "Driving to south carolina in a mini van", he says with a laugh. “As a kid I loved to randomly put words to melody's without even knowing what I was doing.”
Throughout his middle and high school career he was heavily involved in anything musical. At his school he was in the jazz band (drums), marching band (section leader percussion), and more. It was music at school during the day, then again back home at night.
Frish is a humble, well-spoken artist who knows just what he wants and he’ll stop at nothing to achieve it. At age 15 he started booking his own gigs locally in the upper Ohio region. This is when he began to really start developing his sound by idolizing artists such as “Gary Levox” (Rascal Flatts), Keith Urban, Justin Timberlake, Usher and everywhere in between. He then grew his craft and began songwriting shortly after.
After years and years of support and encouragement from family and friends, Jacob decided to make the move to Music City at 22. Right around that time he took some major steps in his life after marrying a girl from his home town of Lagrange, Ohio, and developing his faith in God. He then really buckled down on writing, performing and working on his craft. Since then he has opened for some well-known country artists, including Craig Morgan and Jacob Bryant. Some of his other recent accomplishments include recording and releasing his first EP, Debut single “Distracted”, co-written by Reid Isbell and co-written/produced by Grammy nominated producer Jason Massey.
He is expanding his musical capabilities and career by releasing more music, and traveling to meet and expand his fan base as much as possible. He also plans to branch out creatively while staying true to himself.
“I’m in an all gas no breaks mindset”, says Frish. “Music is not just what I do, it’s who I am and who I will always be.”
