More Than 60 Ice Sculptures For Ice-A-Fair

More than 60 ice sculptures will appear at 11 am on Saturday, February 1, 2020 up and down Main Street and Liberty Avenue in downtown Vermilion during the 12th Annual Main Street Vermilion Ice-A-Fair. Visit downtown Vermilion for a day of fun, ice sculptures and more. Look for some fun, new additions including Corn Hole on Ice.

The day begins with chocolate! Ritter Public Library’s open the doors to their 2020 Chocolate Festival at 10 am. Sample a wide variety delicious chocolate confections and vote for the next Chocolate Champion of Vermilion. Tastes are only 50¢ each.

Take time to shop the stores along the route in between admiring the sculptures. Discover unique gifts, clothing, art, candy and popcorn, jewelry and more for you or someone special.

Lolly the Trolley will be in town for the day taking guests on 45-minute narrated tours of historic Vermilion. Hop on at Liberty and Grand (across from Granny Joe’s Ice Creamatorium). Only $1 per person, or $5 for a family.

Hungry? There are eight restaurants, diners and pubs downtown and more a short car ride to the east. You’re sure to find whatever you are hungry (or thirsty) for during Ice-A-Fair.

Enjoy live demonstrations of ice carving skills throughout the day by artists from Elegant Ice. The schedule will be posted in the center of town.

Time your visit to end at 6 pm in the center of downtown with Fire & Ice, a blazing display of flames set to music and accompanied by fire dancers. This is the fourth year for this exhibit and each one is different and brilliant. You’ll be mesmerized as you watch the melting ice put out the fire…or does the fire topple the icy tower? It’s free and magical!

Join the Meltdown Party afterwards at the Vermilion Boat Club, a short stroll from the center of town. Doors open at 7 pm with a selection of heavy hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar and live music. Gather around the fire, or enjoy the view of the Lagoons at night. Tickets are $30 and are available online or at Main Street Vermilion. Don’t wait! This party always sells out.
