Ritter Library Closing On Mondays & Tuesdays Due To Funding Issues

The COVID-19 pandemic has created many challenges for Ritter Public Library, and some of them have been economic. Much of Ritter's funding comes from the state of Ohio through the Public Library Fund. Because this fund fluctuates based on the strength of the economy, Ritter is experiencing the negative effects.

Beginning next Monday, June 8, Ritter Public Library will not be open on Mondays and Tuesdays. Hours for the foreseeable future will be:

  • Wednesday – Saturday – 10 am – 5:30 pm
  • Sunday – 1 pm – 5 pm

The first hour of operation will be reserved for seniors and individuals with health concerns. Remember to wear a facial covering.

Ritter will continue to circulate items and requests may be made online or by phone. If Ritter has the item available, the holds placed Friday – Sunday will be ready for pick up on Wednesday afternoon.

Through the generous donations from the Ritter Public Library Foundation and the Friends of Ritter Public Library, Ritter will be holding an online Summer Reading Program.

Ritter Library is located at 5680 Liberty Avenue in downtown Vermilion, Ohio. Call (440) 967-3798 for more information.
