The Vermilion Food Pantry is a community-wide project sponsored by the Vermilion Ministerial Association and operated out of United Church of Christ, Congregational Vermilion at 990 State Street in Vermilion, Ohio. The Pantry collects and distributes food and clothing for people in need within the Vermilion school district.

Shake, Rattle & Stroll takes place October 1, 2020 to October 31, 2020 in Vermilion, Ohio. No bones about it, Vermilion shops and restaurants are stirring up some fun for your October visits. Forty spooky, goofy, cute and quirky, funny and funky skeletons are waiting for you as you shop, dine and browse around town. Local business owners host these characters in their stores and windows, decorated and dressed for the season and your visit.

The Vermilion Chamber stated it had so much fun making a Vermilion tourist video with Eric McGuinn, local Vermilion Commercial filmmaker, his amazing filming crew, and the awesome cast that is also locally from Vermilion, Ohio.

Coal & Ice Station in downtown Vermilion is celebrating Woollybear Weekend (or what would have been Woollybear Weekend.) Join in the fun on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4, 2020 with games, contests, pumpkin painting, and great food deals. Coal & Ice Station will supply small pumpkins (while supply lasts), as well as paints and brushes. You are also welcome to bring your own.

Starting September 28, join Ritter Public Library just behind the library in Hanover Park for a read along storytime. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 am Ritter provides multiple copies of picture books to read together followed by an activity. Bring a blanket to sit on to spread out, allowing all family groups to maintain social distance. Masks and registration required.

The Which Was Better? book club is officially back at Ritter Library on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 3 pm to 4 pm. This first meeting will discuss The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, both the book by Rebecca Skloot and film starring Oprah Winfrey and Rose Byrne. While the Library maintains safety protocols during the pandemic, the books and movies for book club are available behind the Circulation desk.

French Creek Theatre is proud to present, in a socially distant setting, Jason Robert Brown's "The Last Five Years". The Last Five Years takes place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 25th - 27th, 6 pm each night, at Vermilion River Reservation Amphitheater. Swing by the Carriage Barn at Vermilion River Reservation this week between 10 am to 4:30 pm to pick up a Treasure Hunt Map. Use the map and clues to learn fun facts, explore Vermilion River Reservation and find the mystery letters to solve the code word for a prize.
