VHS Artists Win Awards

This fall Vermilion High School art students participated for the first time in Lorain County Educational Service Center’s annual Art Show. The show included works of art from several area schools, and was displayed at Elyria Public Library on West River Road in Elyria.

Visitors to the show were asked to vote for their favorite piece for the “People’s Choice” awards. One “Best in Show” piece was selected from each participating school.

Vermilion students submitting artwork to the show were: Jacob Frey, Audrey Peterson, Ayden Bath, Camryn Colahan, Erin Conner, Gretchen Schmidt, and Kara Jones. Camryn Colahan's charcoal drawing of her cat called "Sky" was selected as Best in Show for VHS, and Kara Jones received a 2nd place People’s Choice award for her work titled “Banished”.

Vermilion Local School District congratulates all of the VHS students, and art teacher Christen Schneid, for their participation and success in this outstanding art show.
