FESTIVAL OF THE FISH
The Vermilion Chamber of Commerce and the Festival of the Fish Committee bring you the Annual Festival of the Fish Father's Day Weekend. The 2023 festival theme is Fishstock....3 days of peace, music & perch and takes place Friday, June 16 to Sunday, June 18. Celebrate the sea in downtown Vermilion, Ohio at Victory Park, 687 Main Street. An amazing entertainment line-up will be offered. Start planning for the Fish Fest Sand Castle Contest, Crazy Craft Race, Parade and Lighted Boat Parade. The Festival of the Fish offers free entertainment with no admission fee, free parking, a midway full of food vendors, kids games and much much more. A beer cabana will be located by the Main Stage with ice cold beer and beverages and live entertainment. On Friday young girls vie for the coveted title of guppy, princess, little miss and queen in one of the largest festival pageants in the county. Kids games take place at the gazebo. At noon the Midway opens with delicious foods and spectacular craft vendors. Don't miss the princess pageant and the Queens Pageant. Festival of the Fish Fireworks will take place on Friday at dusk (approximately 9:45 pm). The best place to watch is on Festival grounds by Victory Park or Main Street Beach. Fireworks will be launched off the detached break wall. On Saturday the day kicks off with a 5 K run and a Sand Castle Contest at Main Street Beach. Crazy Craft Races and an Antique Wooden Boat Parade take place on the Vermilion River. The annual Lighted Boat Parade sails at dusk on the Vermilion River. On Sunday, the annual Father’s Day Parade steps off in downtown Vermilion. Don’t miss the wet and wild firefighters water fight immediately following the parade. MILL HOLLOW SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
Mill Hollow Summer Concert Series takes place Sunday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8 pm at Vermilion River Reservation's Bacon Woods Amphitheater. Join Vermilion River Reservation Sunday evenings each summer for outdoor musical performances at the Bacon Woods amphitheater! All bands are family friendly. ANNUAL VERMILION PORT AUTHORITY PADDLE FEST POKER RUN
Join in the Annual Vermilion Port Authority Paddle Fest Poker Run. Open to all types of paddle craft, kayak, canoe, SUP, etc. The event proceeds will help pay for upgrades, maintaining, and beautification of the ADA Kayak Launch area. This is a non-alcoholic, fun family event. Total participants limited to 100. Check in begins at 8:30 am; choose your start time of either 9 am or 9:30 am. Please try to carpool as parking is very limited! It is The Festival of the Fish weekend with lots going on. The event is open to any type of paddle craft, kayaks, SUP, canoes, etc. Meet at the Vermilion Port Authority Kayak Launch, 777 W River Road, Vermilion, Ohio by the start time you've chosen for all info. Paddle the Vermilion River south to route 2 and back stopping at 5 points to get a playing card. Registration may be made by calling (440) 204-2474, emailing [email protected], by mail, or stop in and see the Dock Master at the docks. The Port Authority accepts Visa, M/C, Discover, check, or cash. No refunds. The event will take place rain or shine. Prizes will be given for the Top Three Hands at the end of the event. There will also be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle.

The Vermilion Arts Guild hosts seasonal shows featuring artwork that reflect the season. The Vermilion Arts Guild, a program of Main Street Vermilion, is a collective of local artists and craftsmen working together to provide opportunities that promote and identify Vermilion as an exciting art community. Gallery shows feature watercolors, acrylics, oils, mixed media, photography, jewelry, potters, fiber art, wood and hand-crafted items. Original art is a great gift. VERMILION POSTCARD PROJECT
The Postcard Project features 15 big and beautiful, mural-sized recreations of vintage postcards that record local history and the nostalgic scenes that depict Vermilion as a long-time vacation destination. Enjoy a day downtown and all around Vermilion and see the award-winning Postcard Project for yourself. Stop in at Main Street Vermilion first for your keepsake Tour Guide (a $5 suggested donation). Postcards 1 through 10 are walkable throughout the historic downtown district. Postcards 11-14 are located along the eastern corridor of town and can be viewed on foot or by car. Postcard 15 is located 4.8 miles west of downtown at Beulah Beach, where the grounds are open to the public and the view of the lake is a wonderful way to end your day in Vermilion.
